Qual a diferença as expressões inglesas “in inspite” e “despite”?
A única diferença entre as duas palavras é o modo que elas são usadas na frase, mas têm o mesmo significado.
“Despite” e “in spite of” tem significado semelhante a “regardless of”.
Dizemos “in spite of” mas, se usarmos “despite”, não é necessário usar “of”. A ordem é “despite the fact (that)”.
We went out in spite of the rain.
