Solecism ( noun) – A breach of good manners or etiquette; Any error, impropriety, or inconsistency.

Origin

Solecism was originally a toponym for people from a Greek city where a corrupt form of Greek was spoken. Only in Middle French did it come to mean “a mistake in speaking or writing”.
