The flu is an infectious disease caused by RNA viruses. The most common symptoms found here are chills, fever, sore throat, muscle pains, severe headache, coughing, fatigue and discomfort in general. This disease is often confused with other similar illnesses like the common cold, but it is more severe and is caused by a different type of virus. Generally transmitted through the air, the influenza virus can be inactivated by sunlight, disinfectants, and detergents. The common cold (Latin: rhinitis acuta catarrhalis) is an upper respiratory disease, caused by rhinoviruses and coranaviruses. Some of the symptoms are cough, sore throat, runny nose, and mild fever. Although there is no cure for the common cold, the problem is generally resolved in 7 to 10 days, however, some of the symptoms MAY last up to three weeks.
