Palavra do dia: Churlish

Churlish – rude; mesquinho; mediano; difícil de lidar.

Origem

Churlish se origina do inglês antigo “ceorlisc”, que significa “peasant”. O termo teve vários significados anteriormente, no inglês médio, incluindo “man of the common people,” “a country man,” etc.

Por volta de 1300, o significado era “fellow of low birth or rude manners.”

I call it churlish that you would complain of a little time spent in schooling me when the rewards I’ve earned you come in thick and fast.
