Still
Negativas com Still sugerem que a situação devia ter mudado, mas não mudou:
• I still haven’t found my wallet. I know it’s here somewhere. (Estou procurando há muito tempo. Já devia ter encontrado)
Geralmente colocamos Yet após o verbo principal, e o Still após o sujeito.
Compare:
I haven’t finished yet.
I still haven’t finished.
It’s 8pm and we haven’t arrived yet.
It’s 8pm and we still haven’t arrived.
Already
A negativa com “Already” é bem menos comum que as negativas com yet e still. Geralmente se refere a coisas que deviam ter acontecido antes do quando realmente aconteceram:
• If you’ve already registered, get through. If you haven’t already registered, it’s 20 dollars for late registration.
• I was surprised that he hasn’t spoken to me about the house.
